Gal.6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers

Welcome to One4Life

There are more than 3400 Government Housing residences in South Sydney. Many of the occupants live with physical health, mental health and/or addiction issues, criminal pasts, are refugees or long-term social welfare recipients. The one4life ministry exists to share the Christian faith, hope and love of Jesus with those living in Government housing in a way that is sensitive to their specific needs.

One4Life

is a gospel ministry with a

social justice heart.

The one4life ministry is overseen by our resident chaplain Geoff Miles who coordinates the Friday Food Distribution, Overcomers Outreach, Christianity Explored and Midweek BBQ’s with a great team of volunteers.

Geoff is married to Susan, loves Jesus and has a diploma in Christian counselling. He assists the Senior pastor with the pastoral care needs of those living with social disadvantage. Geoff is well loved by the community and is always ready to practically support anyone who asks.

The front door of the one4life ministry is our Friday Food Distribution. Each Friday OzHarvest provides several tonnes of food that is sorted by church volunteers. About 100-120 people living with disadvantage then collect food each week. When recipients collect food they receive love, hear about Jesus’ grace, are invited to church, told about our addiction workshops and are invited to do Christianity Explored.

One4Life has now run for 10 years and many people in Government Housing have become Christians, beaten addiction, volunteered in the one4life ministry and some have even gained regular employment.

One4life also partners with St Andrews Cathedral school in raising the students awareness of social disadvantage. Several times a year, senior students serve as volunteers in one4life. The school also runs the annual SAC’s Factor school concert to raise money for the one4life ministry.
