Youth & Children Ministry

Prov.22:6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Youth & Children Ministry

The Bible is clear that God has given parents the enormous privilege of raising their children in the knowledge and love of of Jesus. We want to support parents in this wonderful privilege. So as a church we do have a small children’s ministry. Every second week primary and junior high school aged children head out of church for an age appropriate Bible study. Every alternate week these young adults are encouraged to sit with their parents in church. We currently have about 8-10 young teenagers in our church and we also run a Thursday Youth Group for them to invite their non-Christian friends for fun, friendship and to hear the gospel.

SSAC’s Kids

Bible Program

SSAC’s kids is a Bible program run during church for primary and junior high kids – every Sunday during school terms. The kids spend the first 15 minutes in church with their families for worship. They then head out to our church hall – where they study God’s Word, pray and encourage one another in an age appropriate way.

At present most of our children are in primary or early high school. But we welcome children of all ages and will do everything in our power to love, support and encourage them in the faith.

Young Teens

SSAC’s Youth

play games and learn about Jesus

SSAC’s Youth is an opportunity for the youth in our church and in our community to hang out, play games and learn about Jesus. Each year we also take the youth to KYCK – which is a Christian Conference for teens held in Katoomba. Thousands of Christian teens attend this conference from across the state.

SSAC’s Youth is coordinated by Tomer and Sherly Aston who love Jesus and will look after your kids.

Alexandria Park

Special Religious Education

Alexandria Park

South Sydney Anglican Church also oversees the running of SRE in Alexandria Park Community School. SRE is an interdenominational Christian education program run in state schools to help children understand the Christian faith. Parents must now choose to include their children in SRE when they enrol in the school. At Alexandria Park we have about 20 children in the infants class (k-2) and 30 children in upper primary (3-6). We have some great teachers and SRE is still a great opportunity for our church to share our faith, hope and love in Jesus.

Child Protection & Training

Our church loves children and is serious about protecting them from all forms of harm.

All our volunteers working in child related activities must have an approved Working With Child Card, conducted Safe Ministry training and have appropriate character reference checks.

This is for the peace of mind of our parents and the protection of all children
